The Hamilton Big Band is a community based not for profit organisation.

Established in the 1960′s, our membership has seen some changes over the years, but at any one time normally comprises of a 16 piece band.  At one point the band had sponsorship from a radio station and was known as the ZHFM Hamilton Big Band.  Our longest standing current member is Danny Roguski, who many will know through the Hamilton Community Centre of Music.  Danny played his first gig in 1968.  All of the current sax and trombone players have been involved with or taken classes at HCCM at one time or other.

The Hamilton Big Band is available for all kinds of private or public functions for entertainment or dancing.  Due to our size, we do need a bit of space to perform as well as access to power.  Fees are negotiable dependent on the location and length of the gig.

The band plays a variety of music including Swing, Latin, Waltz, Rock ‘n Roll, Funk, Contemporary Pop and Rock styles as well as Big Band standard pieces from the likes of Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Duke Ellington to name just a few.
